Computer/POS Hardware & Software

The Software Clinic specializes in Point of Sale hardware items such as POS computers (the IBM Sure One), cash drawers, receipt printers, barcode scanners, barcode printers and customer pole displays are available. When combined with The ShopKeeper Point of Sale Software, we become the complete solution for retailers that need computerized sales and inventory tracking abilities.

Following is a list of recommended POS Hardware compatible with The ShopKeeper Point of Sale Software:

*please note: all barcode scanners must have a keyboard wedge interface. RS-232 is not supported.

Cash Drawers

• SDMS POS100-M Cash Drawer

* please note: ShopKeeper uses a single ASCII character (usually 7 – the bell character) to open the cash drawer. Drawers that require a sequence of characters such as Esc (*) are not supported, and would require special handling.

Receipt Printers

• Citizen IDP3535PF 3" Parallel Interface
• Star Receipt Printers (Parallel Interface)

Pole Displays

• DSP-800 2x20 alphanumeric display (RD-232 interface)

Thermal Barcode Printers

* please note: any ASCII keyboard with a keyboard wedge interface should be compatible.

Computer Hardware Requirements

• Minimum: 286 processor, 640K RAM, 535K free conventional memory, DOS 5 or later or Windows 95 or Windows 98 (please note: ShopKeeper does not use expanded/extended memory).
• Recommended networks: LANtastic, Novell, Windows 95, Windows 98
